The Tibetan horse racing festival
The most celebrated holiday on the Tibetan grassland. Tibetans come from near and afar, setting up tents for gathering together as a community. The festival has hundreds of dancers, singers and theatrical performers. The most exciting events are the horse racing, horsemanship and stunts riding on horses and archery. This is the time the Tibetans dressed up in their traditional costumes and gorgeous ornaments that are worth thousands of yuan. Come join us in this cultural experience, brought to you by your Malaysian hosts who are serving in this highlands.


‘Cultural Tour to the Tibetan Qinghai Plateau’ with focus on the Tibetan Horse Racing Festival

Itinerary :
Day 1 : Xining. Orientation and meal in host’s home. See the Friday prayers of the Hui people at Dongguan Mosque. Join in  Tibetan community dance at night.
Day 2 :. Huzhu Tu cultural village. Nan Shan park. Ta er si Temple. Outdoor picnic with local farmers.
Day 3 : Travel to Yushu – source of the three rivers, scenic sights of rivers and mountains.
Day 4 - 5  : Tibetan Horse Racing Festival
Day  6 : Travel back to Xining. Scenic site stops at Maduo.
Day 7 : Xining. Shopping and city sights. .
